World Geothermal Congress 2023

15 to 17 September - China National Convention Center, Beijing

The World Geothermal Congress (WGC) is the biggest event that brings together the entire geothermal sector and attracts hundreds of people from all around the world. Organised every 3 years, the congress continues the series of geothermal events that originated under the IGA (International Geothermal Association) umbrella. This year WGC is held in Beijing, China at the China National Convention Center.

We will be at the Geothermal Development Area where we share the booth with Arctic Green Energy. Green by Iceland is joined by 7 leading companies from the geothermal sector in Iceland.

100% of electricity and house-heating needs are met with renewables in Iceland. Furthermore, Icelandic companies have been developing projects where CO2 emissions are captured, turned into stone and stored underground at an industrial scale. Turning green hydrogen and CO2 from geothermal power plants or other sources into liquid methanol for fuel application, greener chemicals, and products, has also advanced as a solution available worldwide.
