Veitur Utilities are part of the Reykjavik Energy Group which performs its statutory utility tasks and other functions in the municipalities of its owners, as well as other municipalities in accordance with the policy laid down by the owners. It harnesses nature in a responsible, sustainable, cost-effective and respectful manner, without undermining the rights of future generations. The Group ervices households in its utility areas, as well as businesses and institutions, and guarantees the agreed quality and delivery security of products and services at fair and competitive prices. Veitur Utilities comprise the operations of the Group’s hot and drinking-water utilities, the distribution of electricity and the management of sewerage systems. The length of the pipelines, which Veitur Utilities oversees, is greater than 9,000 km. The utilities serve 22 municipalities and three out of four Icelanders use Veitur Utilities’ services in some form.
