The Soil Conservation Service of Iceland (SCSI)

SCSI is a government agency operating under the Ministry for the Environment and Natural Resources.  Its mission is to protect, recover and improve the vegetation and the soil of the country and to secure the sustainable utilization of land.  The SCSI is also active on education, research and development of land use.

The SCSI and the Agricultural University of Iceland operate the Icelandic Soil Conservation College.  It forms a part of Iceland’s development aid and trains experts in the fields of land use and soil conservation.
