About the company

RARIK is a state owned company with the mission to economically distribute electricity to companies and homes.  Its subsidiary, Orkusalan, handles the production and marketing of electrical energy.  Another subsidiary, Orkuthroun, is active in consulting and development domestically and internationally.

RARIK´s distribution system stretches over 9.000 km.  Recently, overhead lines have been systematically replaced by underground cables to increase operational reliability and reduce visual effects.  The aim is to have the complete distribution network underground by 2035.
