IceWind specializes in designing and manufacturing small-scale, vertical axis wind turbines that provide 100% renewable energy in any weather condition. Currently, we offer two product lines: the RW series and the CW series. Both types of turbines are built upon a patented, hybrid Savonius/ Darrieus design. This combination of drag and lift systems, accelerates the turbines quickly at lower wind speeds while simultaneously providing a natural brake at higher speeds to prevent over-spin. IceWind turbines are built to be sustainable and rugged, providing power regardless of the weather.
The RW turbines is specially designed for providing energy to telecommunication towers making it easier for telecom companies to have off-grid systems run on renewables. Off-grid towers usually run on fossil fuels but with the use of the Icewind turbine the companies can save many tons of fuel while lowering the carbon footprint significantly.
The CW turbine is a residential unit for individuals that want to lower the carbon footprint by making their own electricity at their home or at their cabin.
