About the company

The first objective of ALOR is to provide an Aluminum-based rechargeable battery for stationary applications and to develop and deploy a manufacturing pilot line in Spain followed by a manufacturing facility in Iceland to launch a market-ready product.

Alor ehf. was established with the aim of accelerating energy exchange through the introduction of new, environmentally friendly technological solutions. In collaboration with the University of Iceland and other scientists, Alor is working on scaling up the technology that the company has already acquired through its collaboration with Albufeira Energy Storage 2 (AES). Together with the University of Iceland, Alor is developing green energy storage, create new knowledge of environmentally friendly battery technology while also educating students in order to promote Icelandic innovation in this field in the future. Alor is developing and manufacturing electricity storage facilities that will be used e.g. to collect and store excess electricity and promote its better utilization.
